Life has been good. Following graduation from the University of Northern Iowa and an MA from University of Iowa, I taught English and journalism at West High School in Waterloo for four years and then journalism at Grosse Pointe (Mich) South High School for 28, named national journalism teacher of the year in 1988. Following early retirement, I spent 11 1/2 years administering academic activities (student publications, theatre, forensics, debate, scholastic bowl and creative writing) for the Virginia High School League, coordinating state programs for more than 300 schools. Now retired for the second time, I am enjoying two grandsons (three and four) and volunteer work for a local theatre group.
